Region 9 Education Service Center provides Statewide Leadership for the School, Family, and Community Engagement (SFCE) Network.
The SFCE Network is committed to ensuring that families of students with disabilities receive accurate, timely information and meaningful opportunities to engage as collaborative partners in their child’s education. The network is comprised of representatives from all twenty Texas Education Service Centers and works collectively to strengthen family engagement across the state.
The SFCE Network focuses on four key priorities:
Training – Supporting schools in building authentic family partnerships; equipping families with knowledge related to their child’s disability and the special education process; and providing joint learning opportunities for educators and families.
Technical Assistance – Offering guidance, tools, and resources that help districts and families navigate and actively participate in the special education system, including support with the statewide Parent Involvement Survey.
Information Dissemination – Coordinating communication across the state to share timely updates, resources, and best practices; collaborating with parent organizations; and partnering with the Texas Education Agency to address identified needs in special education.
Continuous Improvement – Conducting statewide needs assessments, identifying and replicating innovative practices, and working alongside the Texas Education Agency to strengthen family engagement systems that support positive outcomes for students with disabilities.
Through collaboration, shared leadership, and a commitment to partnership, the SFCE Network works to ensure families, schools, and communities are aligned in supporting student success.
