Mental Health Initiative Vision

The Mental Health Initiative exists to provide underserved campuses within Region 9’s service area access to qualified mental health professionals, facilitation of mental health training, crisis & prevention services, and community resource connection in order to improve individual, community, and public mental health outcomes.

 

 

 

 

When in partnership with the Mental Health Initiative, campuses are provided with the following:

  • Direct mental health service for staff and students, delivered by licensed mental health professionals
  • Classroom behavior support and research-based strategies to increase effectiveness of behavior response
  • On-site crisis support in the event of a campus or district crisis
  • On-site follow-up by project lead and other ESC specialists, as needed
  • Facilitation of community resource connections
  • Resources for SHAC and SSSP teams
  • Specific mental health and behavior training for district personnel, when requested
