Transportation Services

This program provides the required training for new and continuing bus drivers. Consultative services are also provided for school administrators regarding compliance with school transportation requirements.

Services provided:

  • Training for bus drivers seeking initial certification or renewal of certification (20-hour initial and 8-hour re-certification)
  • Issuance of enrollment certificates or duplicate certificates
  • Assistance with technical inquiries and program support

  • Online School Bus Driver Re-Certification Training Course
    Register through Region 4 ESC, Session #1930183.  Please scan and email a copy of the purchase order to the Region 4 Registration Department at register@esc4.net and copy the Region 4 Transportation Department (transportation@esc4.net). Once received, they will manually match it up to your registration, unlock the course and reset the expiration date to give you the full 7 days access.

    Before beginning this course make sure you are logging into the Professional Development Page from a computer with Windows 10 or newer and with a high-speed internet connection. (The course is not compatible with a Mac, Chromebook, tablet or any mobile device.) Also, pop up blockers must be disabled and search history needs to be cleared. Please use most current version of Google Chrome to access the course. If you experience any technical issues while taking this course     please email the Region 4 Transportation Department.
     
  • In-Person Classes – Certification and recertification classes are typically offered at school districts throughout the region and at Region 9 ESC multiple dates throughout late May – late July, and at Region 9 ESC every December/January.  See separate class schedule for details when classes are open for registration. 

Summer 2026 Certification/Recertification Class Schedule

  1. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED THROUGH THE ONLINE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. 
     
  2. REGISTRATION FOR BUS DRIVER CLASSES IS NOW OPEN.  If you need assistance with the registration process, please call Dana Parrish at 940-322-6928, ext. 8203 or the Registration Office, ext. 8235.
     
  3. Class size is limited to 35.  Walk-ins will not be allowed to stay if maximum class size has been reached.  Additional classes will be scheduled if needed to accommodate all individuals needing training.
     
  4. Districts will be invoiced following the classes:  $175 for certification / $75 for refresher.  If an individual is not employed by a school district, he/she must pay the fee in advance (check or cash – no credit cards accepted).
