Region 9 Supports District Leaders at 2026 DAG Conference

Region 9 was proud to accompany two educators from City View ISD to the 2026 DAG Conference, held February 2–3 in Austin. Kim Williams, Principal of City View Jr./Sr. High School, and Jennifer Martin, Reading Specialist, represented their district with a strong focus on collaboration and instructional growth.
Throughout the conference, participants explored the TCMPC platform by core subject, gaining a clearer understanding of available resources and how they can be used to strengthen classroom instruction. The experience provided dedicated time to dig deeply into tools that support teachers while also engaging in meaningful conversations about campus-level needs.
Kim Williams shared that the conference offered a valuable opportunity to closely examine TCMPC resources and collaborate with others implementing the platform.
“It gave me an opportunity to dig in to the TCMPC website by core subject and see what resources are available to teachers,” Williams said. “In addition, I appreciated the chance to network with other districts and administrators who are putting TCMPC into practice.”
She noted that discussions were productive and centered on identifying what campuses truly need to support teachers and students.
Jennifer Martin echoed the value of the experience, highlighting the opportunity to think more intentionally about how TCMPC resources can be applied to support instruction.
“I especially appreciated hearing practical ideas from other districts and participating in discussions that centered on real campus needs and student successk,” Martin said. “he collaboration and shared problem-solving helped spark ideas that I can bring back to our district as we continue strengthening instructional practices.”
Beyond the sessions, the conference created space for connection with education leaders across Texas, reinforcing the importance of collaboration in strengthening instructional practices.
Region 9 is grateful for the opportunity to support district leaders in professional learning that directly impacts classrooms. We look forward to seeing the continued growth and innovation that result from this experience.
