SparkEd Future Educators Conference Coming Jan. 21

On January 21, 2026, students from across Region 9 will gather for SparkED, a dynamic future educators conference designed for 11th and 12th-grade students who are exploring careers in education. The event will be held at the Region 9 Education Service Center and is a collaborative effort supported by Vernon College and Midwestern State University.
The conference aims to inspire and equip the next generation of educators through engaging sessions, hands-on learning, and meaningful connections. The day will begin with a keynote address from Taliyah Brooks, Wichita Falls native and Olympic medalist, followed by tailored breakout sessions:
- EngagEd for 11th-grade students
- EmpowerEd for 12th-grade students
- EncouragEd for the teachers who support them
To close the day, scholarships will be awarded to selected students to help them take the next steps toward their teaching goals.
SparkED will run from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the scholarship presentations beginning at 1:35 p.m.
